My first time souping film, I had accidentally left film in the cup holder of my car. Over time I ended up spilling coffee where my film was, and hadn’t noticed until after a heat wave. The roll was crusty and rusty, but I decided to develop it anyways. The stained film and lifting emulsion created a nostalgic effect that. I was in LOVE. A quick search told me I had accidentally discovered a process called film soup. Since then I’ve been experimenting with ingredients such as lemon juice, water flavoring powders, and alcohol to create an other-worldly experience playing on nostalgia.
